Enjoy the Mughlai Food Festival this December at Kama, Radisson Blu, Kaushambi
Kama at Radisson Blu Kaushambi is famous for hosting food festivals of different cuisines. This December they are hosting the Mughlai Food Festival to bring the taste of Mughlai cuisine from different parts of the country right to your table. When we went there yesterday to enjoy the food festival we were in for some great food, good company and soulful live performances.
The ambience of Kama changed from what we saw last time. The seating arrangement and the interiors changed to give this restaurant a more vibrant and lively look. The transparent glass used towards the entrance is a smart move by the management to attract all the visitors to Kama when they see people enjoying food and live music from a distance. The seating is comfortable as always and the lighting was apt for a perfect fine dine experience.
Food and Drinks:
As it was a Mughlai food festival, the menu was curated with the Mughlai taste in mind. The 3-course meal was designed perfectly to enjoy different dishes for a perfect gastronomical experience. Here’s all we had for dinner:
Soups and Starters:
We had both the Chicken Elaichi Shorba and Tomato Dhaniya Shorba. Both the soups were made to perfection and the chicken soup had ample chicken chunks to start with.
We also tried the Chicken Kalami Kebabs, Hyderabadi Seekh Kebab, Machhi Tikka and Paneer Tikka. The Paneer Tikka could be asked to spiced up a bit if you like strong flavours in tikka. The Kalami Kebab were delicious with well marinated chicken full of flavours.
Our personal favourite from the starters were Hyderabadi Seekh as it has such soft minced mutton roasted in a seekh and had an aroma of the coal. The Machhi Tikka was tasty as the fish melted in the mouth and tasted awesome with mint chutney and onions.
The main course was a well-thought spread with equal choices for both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Although our inclination is always more towards the non-veg items listed in the menu, we could not say no to Dal Sultani and Paneer Rasala. The dal was yellow-dal well fried with tomato, onion and garlic.
For the carnivores in us we tried the Lagan ki Boti and Murg Tawa Korma. Both the dishes were equally good and had distinct spicy taste for both mutton and chicken respectively. We also tried the Macchi Bemisaal which was fish curry made from boneless fish and liked it.
Drinks and Desserts:
Good food is always well complimented with good drinks. The iced tea and sundowner were good to enhance the experience. The presentation of the desserts was top notch.
Badam ka Halwa prepared with lots of Desi Ghee and presented in swing with a treat to watch and eat. The Kulfi Faluda was also made well with the base of Kulfi sprinkled with Rabri Faluda with balanced sweetness.
The staff of the Kama restaurant has been recently changed and we really enjoyed this change. The Head Chef Vikas Kapoor and Chef Devi Lal ensured with are having a good time and kept on asking about our preferences regarding the taste and flavours. Kushwant and Sonali from the marketing team ensured we had a good company for dinner and discussed their experiences from the city with us.
It feels special when you have a good company to talk and a staff that really takes care of you. The food prepared for the Mughlai Food Festival is absolutely up to the mark and does not miss any opportunity to gives you a satisfying Mughlai experience.
