Dessert Diaries – Story Featuring Home Bakers in Delhi NCR

When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece. Its often said that one should love the job that he does. There are times when we find ourselves caught in the wrong job and want to do something with our heart and soul. To start with, we start doing things which make us happy, more as a hobby. Soon we realize that our hobby turns into passion and we move towards creating a masterpiece each time we dwell into it. Here is a story of few passionate home bakers in Delhi and NCR who follow their heart to make others happy with their impeccable creations.

Practically Perfect by Adrija

A lawyer by profession, baking and desserts are a passion for Adrija. What excites her the most is creating a fusion of traditional Indian flavors with western techniques.

Some of the crowd pleasers she creates are her traditional Christmas cake, her fruit based skinny cheesecake jars, choux buns, brioche breads and her festive themed cupcakes in a range of amazing flavors like peanut butter and jelly!

Green jar – deconstructed key lime pie! Pink jar – Raspberry chocolate cheesecake with a chocolate ganache topping!

Salted caramel and ginger cupcakes with a Swiss meringue buttercream

Fondant cake – Chocolate Flavor!

Over a period of time they mastered the art of getting the perfectly baked delicacies out of the ovens, frosting them over with careful love, and adding cherries on the top with the right balance.

With versatility as their USP, they claim to bake anything that you wish to desire, irrespective of its shape or size!

Mom Made by Anjana
Earlier a home-maker and now a home-baker, Anjana has been interested in baking from the beginning as she used to bake cakes and desserts for the family on various occasions.

In the present scenario we usually witness that parents motivate and push their children to achieve the best of their abilities, but for mom made her daughters were the motivators and the driving force that enabled me to embark this journey.

With only egg-less products being there USP of her kitchen, cooking and baking is equivalent to meditation which soothes her mind.

The Mellow Yellow Co. by Sana Nair

A Delhi-based chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu London, Sana Nair, has worked as a patisserie chef in a few restaurants and hotels, including Yauatcha Delhi for a couple of years before she began her own home-based patisserie, “The Mellow Yellow Co.” 

All of 20 at the time and fresh out of business school, she decided to take the plunge and enroll at Le Cordon Bleu, London for cuisine and patisserie studies which she considers was her best decision ever.

The Mellow Yellow Co. is focused on simple, honest dessert, which would be best defined as “comfort food”. Each product is handcrafted in their very own kitchen, using only the finest and freshest ingredients. Some of their current favorites include the Nutella Sea Salt Cookies, Apple cinnamon cake (favorite winter treat!), Baileys chocolate cake jars, Raspberry brownies, and Dark Chocolate Fig truffles.

A Delhi based Home Baker, Avni Gupta specializes in egg less designer cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and other desserts. She bakes every cake right from scratch with the best quality material and just the right sweetness redefining “fresh cakes” as compared to the pre-mix cakes sold at bakery these days.

Travel theme-based Chocolate Cupcakes!

The USP of Cake Mason is that every item is egg-less. Whether is it a cake, or fondant, everything is purely vegetarian. Their unique designs and flavors set them apart from the traditional bakery cakes.
