So Delhi Confluence 2016 – When Bloggers met Brands!
With blogging being the in-thing in India these days and bloggers playing an active role in their respective fields in influencing the society, the So Delhi team hosted the second edition of the So Delhi Confluence at The Lalit. Be it food, travel, lifestyle or fashion, each blogger is making their mark and influencing the society at large. To encourage blogging and discuss how blogging can be pursued full time, So Delhi brought this Confluence (conference of the influencers) to the city for the second time.
The event opened with an introduction by the celebrated designer duo of Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor who welcomed all the bloggers, the influencers and the So Delhi crew to The Lalit and opened the event. Much to the delight of the guests, the coffee and tea served along with the refreshments were a good reason to connect with the fellow bloggers. After refueling ourselves with the servings we all gathered again for the opening of the event, officially and the launch of the So Delhi app by Digant Sharma, Founder and CEO of So Delhi! Do download the app here to stay tuned about food, travel, city guide, shopping, events, and latest happenings of Delhi!
After the launch of the app, the stage was taken by Leher Sethi, a renowned social activist and other panel members to discuss whether blogging can be pursued as a full time job in India and its other aspects. Renowned bloggers from various fields threw some light on various prospects of the blogging industry. After the commencement of this discussion, Mr. Kapil Mishra, a minister of Cabinet in AAP government, along with Leher Sethi took the stage to discuss the ways in which an individual can contribute towards the development of this city.
The highlight of the evening was the launch of the Armani Exchange watches accompanied with a lovely speech by Swati Gupta, the Marketing Manager of Fossil Group. A contest was launched for the twitterati where 2 people stood the chance to win the beautiful chronographs themselves.
After a good session of discussion, debates and tete-a-tete with the audience it was time to honour the eminent bloggers in their various fields. The event also saw the informative sessions by brands like Fresca juices and Cocofly’s coconut water. Cocofly claimed to be the most natural coconut water without any added preservatives and has a shelf life of upto 5 months.
The evening was pepped up with an amazing rap by Mc Sid as he surprised the audience with his rapping skills. Sid also opened the bar during his rap which made the members flock it to savour the Cutty Sark’s iconic whisky and Witlinger’s satiny textured beer. With Dhruv Visvanath giving an amazing performance on the stage with his vocal skills, the crowd enjoyed more.
It was time for another round of discussion after the cocktail with the members of the panel highlighting the ways in which the gap can be bridged between the bloggers and the brands. After the discussion Naina Redhu took the stage to share her experience as an established blogger as she has been blogging for 12 years. She also informed where we as bloggers should draw the line and say no to things we do not wish to connect with. She was flooded with questions by the audience but she answered them all very interestingly and charmingly. Bravo!
This followed a contest between three bloggers as pitchers with idea for a campaign outreach program to a panel consisting of 4 judges. The best pitcher was awarded an Armani Exchange Watch. Cool!
The closing note of the event was followed by dinner at The Lalit. We could find most of the bloggers pondering over the ideas discussed during the meet and deciding how they should move ahead in this field. All in all the evening was very informative, made us thinking about our responsibilities as bloggers and gave us the direction to proceed in a better way when connecting with brands. Thank you So Delhi for such enlightening meet and we just loved the goodie bag! See you next year!
