An evening of smoke, grills and barbeque at Pirates of Grill!
Thursday invites are always the best as it means an early start to the weekend. We were invited for the bloggers meet at Pirates of Grill in DLF Mall of India, Noida. The restaurant can be spotted from a distance in the mall because of its prominent and eye-catching name embossed at the entrance. The entrance to the restaurant is also marked by a very stylish open flame and makes you look forward to the interiors of the place.
Grilling is a way of life at POG, are the lines which catch your attention as soon as you enter the restaurant. The first thing you will notice about the ambience is that the place is completely inspired by the theme Pirates! You will find a pseudo Jack Sparrow walking around the place, meeting people and getting pictures clicked with them. Full marks to the guy for enacting Mr. Depp so well.
The interiors of the place are done perfectly with ample seating, good space to move around, nicely placed eatables and live kitchen on the side. There is one wall with ropes and magnetic compass showcasing the theme perfectly. The place also has a scaffold for live music placed aptly in one corner of the dining area.
The starters served on the grill were a visual spectacle and smelled good. We tried Mutton Seekh, Chicken Dimsum, Bhatti ka Murg, Ginger Fried Fish, Aatishi Chicken Tikka and Roasted Garlic Prawns. Chicken Dimsums were awesome and one of the best. The chef wanted me to taste the specially prepared Chilly Garlic Prawns which were amazing.
In drinks we tried Pirates Choco, Pirates Delight, Mango Caipirihana and Masala Cola. All drinks served were refreshing with Pirates Delight becoming our favorite as it had a perfect blend of Orange and Litchi juice along with mint.
The main course had a perfect mix of both veg and non-vegetarian dishes. We tried Dal Makhni, Chhole Amritsari and Makai Palak from veg. All the dishes were prepared perfectly with Makai Palak turning out to be the best of the lot.
From non-veg spread we stuffed ourselves with Lal Mirch Ka Gosht, Lagan ka Bhuna Murg, Fish in Namiya Sauce and Murg Dum Biryani with a bit of Egg Fried Rice. The biryani was awesome as it had the proper mix of spices and Lagan ka Bhuna Murg is a must try dish from the main course.
Once done with the main course, we moved to indulge our sweet tooth with the desserts. We tried Moong Dal ka Halwa which was amazing along with Chocolate Truffle Cake, Hot Chocolate Brownie and Strawberry Mousse. From the live counter which catered Kulfi and Jalebi, Kulfi was perfect and Jalebi was appropriately crisp with low sweet. All the desserts were yummy and are surely a heaven for someone with a sweet tooth.
The hospitality of the staff is commendable and the chef Mr. Kunwar Pal Singh personally made sure that all his guests had an amazing time at POG. The live music was one of the finest we have experienced with the singer Benny crooning some of the best songs beautifully! The guests also enjoyed by being a part of it by singing some good romantics from Bollywood. This place is surely recommended for all those who have not tried it yet. We are a big fan of grilled food and barbeque and would surely love to visit this place again in future.
The spread of buffet for both veg and non-veg are sumptuous and amazingly priced at approx 600 for veg and 700 for non-veg on weekdays and a slightly higher on weekends. Good luck to Mr Inderjeet Singh Banga for his latest endeavor!
