Life Update: We have moved to the USA
It has been a long time since we have updated anything on the blog and there is a reason behind it. The reason is that our lives underwent a major change and we moved to a different country in 2020 just before the pandemic. So after a really long hiatus from blogging, we are back again with our Life Update: We have moved to the USA. It’s been almost a year now since we moved from India and here we are sharing some interesting updates on our life, why we moved, how we moved and how have things shaped up for us so far. Let’s begin!
Why did we move to the USA:
Vishu got promoted at work and his new project is based in New York. With his new role he got the opportunity to start afresh in Albany, the capital city of New York. His visa type allowed Saumya also to take up any job or work in the US. Taking it as an opportunity to grow for both of us, we decided to explore the other side of the world.

What’s the reason behind this change:
We all love to grow both professionally and personally. So when Vishu got this opportunity, we gave it a good thought, discussed with our family and decided that it was the right time to move for a better future. Also, as we love exploring different cultures, meeting new people and learning through our experiences, it was an exciting opportunity to shift our base to USA. This move will also give us the chance to visit the countries nearby with more ease and create more meaningful content for everyone.

Moving and Covid: What a timing:
2020 has been the most unexpected year for all of us. We landed in US on the 22nd February 2020 and March 17th was the first lockdown that happened here. With less than a month in between, we were lucky enough to find a permanent accommodation for ourselves, stock food for a few days and get the basic necessities to live. Thankfully, our lockdown was much smoother than we expected and we sailed through it with the support of the locals here. As they say every major change in life opens a new door, we realized the goodness that the people of this country offered and helped us in settling down during the initial phase.

How has the experience been of being in US:
As we complete a year here now, we can say that our experience has been quite a happy one. We slowly and steadily understood the way of dealing with the new normal where everyone was working from home and we got to spend so much time with each other. We used to step out initially only for the groceries and the bare necessities. However as time moved, we shaped our house as per our liking, got a car, got a license to drive here and started exploring places in the later part of the year. Even though started exploring the nearby places which included both small towns and major cities, we planned it with utmost safety.

Why did we take a break from blogging?
Well there are two reasons for it. Firstly we were super busy with our new life and didn’t get much time to write blogs. Secondly, and most importantly to be honest, Vishu had a creative block. With his new role on the professional front and additional responsibilities he wasn’t able to give time to the blog. Even when he tried to write a few times, he couldn’t get into the flow and write. I guess that’s what happens when you stay away from something for too long. Well, the good part is that he is back now and soon we will be updating all our stories from our experiences in US, Abu Dhabi and London which have been long pending.

What the future holds for you as a reader of the blog?
Firstly we apologize for being missing in action for a long time. Please be assured that now we won’t go for such a long break again and be regular with blogging. As a reader you must embrace yourself for now we are going to update all our travel journeys from the past, our latest life updates and our future escapades on a regular basis. We plan to start a 1 blog a week series where we will be bringing you all the latest happenings in and around the upstate New York and other parts of the United States.
