Crowne Plaza Chennai – Luxury in the heart of the city

Presidential Suite! Does that ring a bell of luxury par expectations to you? That’s the stint we had with the Crowne Plaza in Chennai. We were traveling to the South Indian cities during our South India Temple Tour and our abode in Chennai was the Crowne Plaza. As this was going to be a week-long journey covering 5 major cities in South India, we chose Chennai as the starting point. Crowne Plaza Chennai Hotel Review – luxury in the heart of the city is our experiences from staying at one of the most beautiful and luxurious properties in the southern part of India.

We started our trip from Delhi in the morning and reached Chennai in less than 3 hours. It is a very nice feeling when you reach the airport and the hotel staff is waiting for you to pick you up. The feeling is very welcoming and sets your mood right for the trip. Crowne Plaza Chennai is located in the center of the city with all the major tourist attractions nearby. Reaching the hotel from the airport took around 30 mins during which we saw most of the city briefly. Entering the Crowne Plaza Chennai was nothing less than a royal feel. The arching facade of the hotel’s entrance adds on to the grandeur of this luxurious property.

The check-in process was very smooth and we were able to breeze through it easily. As soon as we completed the formalities we went straight to our Presidential Suite. This was our first experience of staying at the Presidential Suite and it was nothing less than jaw-dropping. As soon as we entered it we had a huge living area. The living area was equipped with a sofa and dining table.

Room at the Presidential Suite:

The room of the Presidential Suite was one like from the movies. The wooden interiors added a charm to it. The room has a huge king sized bed with an attached washroom. All the latest amenities could be found in this Presidential Suite Room of the Crowne Plaza Chennai.

Once we were done with checking out our Presidential Suite, it was time for us to head to the restaurant as we were quite hungry. The Crowne Plaza Chennai offers different kinds of restaurants with specialized cuisines.

Residency:
This in-house restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Chennai serves lunch, dinner, and desserts. We opted to go for lunch here on Day1. The buffet spread for lunch was a gastronomical delight. They had a variety of salads apart from appetizers and main-course which we relished.

Dakshin:
The South-Indian specialty restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Chennai is a must visit. We went for lunch here on our second day of stay and had a delightful experience. Right from the time you step in till the time, you will be here, the positivity in the atmosphere will enrich your senses.

Crowne Plaza Chennai
Dakshin has a temple structured specialized menu which unfolds uniquely. The female guests are welcomed with a Gajra (garland) tied to their hair. The food here is the authentic South Indian food which we enjoyed to the core. Also, the feeble classical music being played live in the background adds to the overall experience.

On the Rocks:
As the name suggests, this restaurant has something amazing done on the rocks. The restaurant offers rocks set at high temperatures used to cook your meal right at your dinner table. This is an experience in itself as you actually see the raw textures changing colors and getting cooked from a semi-cooked state right there. We went for dinner on Day1 here and totally loved the experience.
