5 days of Amazing Asia – Malaysia-Singapore tour!
The last week or two had involved rigorous traveling for us. Even though we enjoyed every bit of it, we also realized how difficult it gets to manage both your personal and professional commitments along with being a blogger. An international trip always gets more exciting for all of us as it doesn’t happen very frequently. However, if we plan well in advance, we can travel most of the world in almost the price of an iPhone. So we were all set to experience the 5 days of Amazing Asia on our Malaysia-Singapore tour!
The trip was planned well in advance so we were able to get the tickets at very manageable rates. All thanks to the airfare sale from AirAsia, we got the tickets at dirt cheap prices. The total cost of tickets from Delhi-Malaysia-Singapore-Delhi was less than 12.5K per person in INR (1860 USD). All of you who are planning your international trip to South East Asia or Indonesia or even Australia, please keep an eye on the sales from AirAsia, you will definitely get lucky!
As it were budget flights from AirAsia, there were a luggage restriction as it only allowed check-in luggage of only up-to 7kg. However, the weather being hot in both KL and Singapore, it wasn’t difficult for us to manage our stuff within the permissible limit. Tourist visa to Malaysia and Singapore can be procured online easily as both these countries are very tourism friendly. Indian citizens flying to Malaysia from Singapore can also get a Visa on Arrival in Malaysia.
Travel Tip : It is advised to carry water bottles, food and a fleece blanket to avoid buying them on-board.
The first leg of our journey started with Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (KL) being our first destination. The flight from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur is a 5 hours non-stop one. However, when you reach there you have traveled 7 and half hours in time as they are 2 hours and 30 minutes ahead of us. We started from Delhi around midnight and reached KL at 7AM in the morning. This was our second visit to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the first one was en-route to Bali. The first thing you look out for when you travel international is INTERNET or Free WiFi and KLIA2 (that’s the terminal for Air Asia flights) made sure we weren’t disappointed. They had amazing Internet connectivity at the airport and also in most parts of the city. The immigration process was smooth and we were soon out heading towards our stay for the next two days. We took the KLIA Ekspres (the airport metro) to visit KL Sentral station from KLIA2 where our host was waiting to pick us up.
We knew we had only two days to spend in KL and the next 3 days for Singapore. We wanted to make the most of it by exploring the city and its surroundings. We reached our AirBnB accommodation which turned out to be one of the best places we have stayed over. We will be putting up a detailed review of the accommodation with AirBnB soon. After getting freshened up and refueling ourselves with the breakfast, we quickly got ready to wander through the city. Excitement was at its peak as this was the second international trip for RoadtoTaste. We’ll share the sneak peek with you of our stint with KL for two days soon.
This is just the start of a beautiful and a memorable journey through Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We will be sharing a detailed itinerary of both KL and Singapore along with some of the major attractions at both the places. Watch this place for our experiences and details from the Batu Caves and KLCC Aquaria in Malaysia to Universal Studios and Madame Tussauds in Singapore. Stay tuned!
