Explore Bhutan under 20K with RS Travels
During the planning phase of this trip, we received itineraries from various destination management companies (DMCs) who promised us outings and covering the cities in a not so organized manner. The best part of our itinerary from RS Travels was that it had the best of traveling and rest in a balanced proportion.
With these 5 points, we started our trip to Bhutan from Delhi and were greeted by the RS Travels staff at the Bagdogra airport. Our friends who were flying in from Mumbai joined us at the Delhi airport and we all set out for our first international trip together.
Let us introduce you to our friends who accompanied us on this trip:
Asmita Bhargava: IT girl who is a traveler at heart. A photo freak who never plans any trip without us and we love you for that Anshoooo!
Abhishek Soni: Investment banker, serious at the office and jolly otherwise. A music lover, a perfect example of ‘if looks could kill’ and has a sharp financial flair when it comes to stock markets.
Rattandeep Singh: Singer, guitarist and a Samaritan, Rattan has music in his soul. The man behind Malkaush is an amazing travel companion with humor overloaded.
Swapnila Arora: A girl who loves to dress up and pose. She was the youngest in the group but acted really mature, caring and helpful throughout the trip.
You can read the detailed itinerary of our trip here. We had an overnight stay at Phuentsholing, the border town of Bhutan, both while entering Bhutan and coming back. We stayed at the Park Hotel in Phuentsholing which was a decent stay for a night with good food. The best part was that it was very near to the immigration office so we did not have any issues in getting our permit for Bhutan in the morning.
The stay offered to us in Thimphu was the Ariya Hotel and we stayed at the Tashi Namgay Resort in Paro while our friends stayed at the White Tara Hotel in Thimphu and at the Base Camp Hotel in Paro. Here are the experiences shared by our friend Rattandeep Singh from his stay at the White Tara and Base Camp:
Rooms are well lit, beautifully decorated, spacious, with all the latest amenities and a high-speed Wi-Fi. The Indian cuisine served at the restaurant is delicious. Like most of the business centers, Hotel White Tara also has all female staff, which is extremely professional, polite and courteous. This property is undoubtedly a very attractive and comfortable option for stay at Thimphu.
Hotel Basecamp is a beautiful property surrounded by the beautiful mountains which are snow capped for the most part of the year. It is shadowed by tall evergreen trees and overlooks a stupa. It reminds one, of the childhood sceneries in art classes that had a riot of colors and emotions. The hotel has a very welcoming reception area, ample parking space and a lawn with the restaurant.
The rooms’ decor is done in the authentic Bhutanese style having wooden ceiling, walls and flooring along with all modern amenities. The USP of this place is its restaurant, with the fireplace and chimney in the center, plush interiors, attractive window sills and incandescent lights. The food is also amazing. The staff is extremely polite, courteous and go out of their way to assist their clients. It’s a cozy nest for travelers, with luxury and comfort at a very affordable tariff.
All our friends were really happy and satisfied with arrangements made by RS Travels and we would like to give five stars to their hospitality. We would also like to mention Mr. Rakesh who was in constant touch with us throughout our trip and was always approachable and ready to help. Be it punctuality or arranging the permits, the smoothness of the drive or the stories behind the points en route, everything was top notch. So next time whenever you wish to visit Bhutan, make sure you got in touch with RS Travels for a memorable trip.
