Lunch by the Stream at Satyon Village in Tehri, Uttarakhand
Nature has different ways of surprising us. Where at some places its harsh in summers, others can have the extremities in winters too. When we were at the Terraces soaking in the beauty of nature during our anniversary trip we happened to spend a day at the Satyon Village. We went for a lunch by the stream at the Satyon Village in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand. Located at a distance of 25kms or an hours drive from the Terraces and almost 300kms from Delhi, the small stream of water flowing across the village levels up the peace in the mountains.
We started for the satyon stream after having a hearty buffet breakfast at the Terraces. We were very happy to notice the State Bank of India (SBI) – Satyon branch on the way to the stream. Banks have definitely worked hard to reach far-flung areas of our country like this Satyon Uttarakhand branch.
The route from the Terraces to the Satyon is a hilly ride and should eat less before starting for it. On reaching the Satyon Steam the glimpses of glistening water with the abundant sunshine instantly attracted us. The stream lies in the peaceful village area surrounded by trees all around.
The staff at the Terraces ensured we have a comfortable day-out at the stream and had procured all the amenities accordingly. While we had a buffet table set up at the stream, the chairs and tables with umbrellas on it just made it picture perfect. The houses next to the stream also have a flour mill where they produce fresh flour for the lunch. The buffet spread at the stream by the Terraces had the best of both vegetarian and nonvegetarian dishes. Here’s all that we had at the Satyon stream:
After spending a good 3 hours at the stream, having the best of food, sipping drinks and playing with water during the course, we called it an evening and started our journey back to the base. Spending a day here is highly recommended by us as adds beautifully to your staycation experience at the Terraces.
Once we returned to the Terraces, we enjoyed a hot ginger tea and hot pakodas at the in-house Mohan Dhaba. The evening of the day was spent well with amazing live music with Ashu. The Bollywood numbers sung around the bonfire in the chilly weather made it a perfect end to an eventful day. We could not visit the Kaudia Forest for a walk and dinner in the jungle due to the unfavorable weather. Other excursions from The Terraces can be :
- Day/Night Picnic at Satyun Stream
- Day/Night Picnic inside Kaudia Forest
- Safari inside Kaudia Forest
- Trek to Surkhanda Devi Temple
- Trek inside Dev Darshani Forest
