Weekend and getaways go hand-in-hand. When we are not planning for any family gatherings at home for a weekend, family outings are the best way to take a break. And when it comes to taking a break from the inhumane heat of Delhi, the mountains in Uttarakhand are your first calling. During our trip to Almora and Ranikhet in Uttarakhand, we stayed at Aamod Resorts, a beautiful boutique villa property known as Junoon in the Hills.

This property is more of a luxurious villa than a hotel which has 5 rooms, 1 dining hall attached to a kitchen, a common area and a lounge. The best part about Junoon in the Hills is the peace and tranquility it offers in abundance due to its surroundings. The villa is located around 20kms before the city of Ranikhet and is most suitable for quiet weekend getaways from Delhi. Location and Accessibility:
Junoon in the Hills is located 20kms before the main city of Ranikhet. The location of this property makes it a perfect choice if you just wish to go and unwind at a serene place in the mountains. The property is located right in the mountains with greenery all around. Junoon in the hills can easily be accessed from Ranikhet and Almora via a private cab. Almora and Ranikhet, on the other hand, have very good connectivity from Delhi.
The Property:
Junoon in the Hills is a boutique villa property which gives a complete feeling of a home away from home. With very less or almost negligible hustle and bustle, this peaceful abode in the mountains is just what you need. The property is very tastefully done and you won’t stop yourself than appreciating the owners for their rich and fine taste in architecture. The property has 5 rooms, 3 in the main area and two at the back which serves as an additional guest house. The common seating area is accompanied with a lounge on the first floor. The lounge has a television with home-theater along with a pool table.
The seating area opens up to a deck overlooking the gardens and the mountains. The property has a well-kept garden with a huge Buddha statue signifying peace.

The rooms of the property are well designed with spacious washrooms and the rooms overlook the garden with full-length glass doors. The view from the room is just amazing as you get to see the best of the mountains as soon as you get up. There is an attached washroom with each room and a small changing room also. There is a lot of storage space in the changing room for your luggage and other belongings. The washrooms were very neat and clean and had all the toiletries needed to compliment your stay.

Junoon in the Hills is a home away from home. The property has local staff who are specialist in preparing local dishes. The food that you get here is more like a home cooked food, fresh, tasty and healthy. Even though the food is home cooked, the variety of food offered in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes just adds to your experience of a staycation.

Junoon in the Hills is one property that is highly recommended for a staycation. If you want to laze around and do nothing or maybe, just go out for a short trek and come back soon then this is just the place for you. While we stayed for 2 days at Junoon in the Hills, we just fell in love with the quietness of the surroundings and the delicious home-cooked food. A property highly recommended for someone looking to break free from the chaotic city life!
