Road trips have always been one of the most satisfying and exciting part of our journeys. During our childhood a road trip to our uncle’s place for the summer vacations used to be the high point of our schooling days. As we grew up, the meaning and destination changed for our road trips and so did our companions. While earlier we were accompanied by maps, travel-guides, audio cassettes and notebooks, today all we need is an excellent smart phone. So when Asus approached us to take the new Zenfone 3 along with us on our upcoming road trips to Bhutan and Nepal, we were really excited to explore our neighboring countries with it. Here are the reasons why we call the Asus Zenfone 3 – The smartest road trip companion!
Works like a Charm:The Asus Zenfone 3 is a powerhouse of performance and works almost without any lag. It houses a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz. Powered by Android 6.0 (upgrade-able to 7.0) and ZenUI 3. 0 it runs on 4GB of memory and has a storage capacity of 64GB expandable upto 128GB with a MicroSD card. These specifications make sure that we never feel any issues while storing data, switching between apps, recording videos or even while playing heavy games. We used this phone extensively for shooting and social media postings during our road trip and were always delighted by the performance.

Lives long, really long:
The phone has a 3000mah non-removable battery which lasts easily throughout the day. As we were on a road trip, we needed a phone which can stay with us all the time and the Zenfone 3 really lived up to our expectations. Even after multiple sessions of photography, finding directions through map and GPS, social media updates and various switches between applications, the phone did not give up on us at any point of time. The icing on the cake was that the phone used to get charged quickly and would give a full charge from 15 percent battery in just an hour’s time.
Overall Package:
The Asus Zenfone 3 is an overall value for money phone. With a dual sim functionality supporting one nano and one micro slim slot, expansion through microSD card and a fingerprint sensor which works flawlessly, the lightweight phone is definitely worth every penny spent. The DTS sound output through the 3.5mm aux jack makes it a perfect companion for some thumping music on the road trips.
