Chai on the Expressway!
It’s really nice to marry a person who shares the same interest and loves to live the life just the way you want to live yours. I have been lucky enough to live my life with someone who loves to travel and enjoys food and chai, almost anywhere, even on an expressway!
It was a lazy Saturday morning when all of a sudden my husband came to me and asked me to pack my bags as we have to leave in the next 1 hour. On being questioned about the destination, I was informed that this is one journey which I won’t regret and should just get going and start packing my stuff. Honestly, I wasn’t very interested as being an IT engineer we only get two days in a week to sleep a bit extra. Somehow, I managed to pull myself out of the bed as I always have faith in him when it comes to travelling and road trips.
We managed to leave our home by 11am in the morning and started our journey towards Yamuna Expressway.
My husband informed me that we are going to spend our weekend in Agra as we had just completed 1 year of togetherness (we just celebrated our first anniversary) and he wanted to witness the symbol of love together. I was overwhelmed!
We hit the expressway in around 40 minutes and we were lucky enough for not being stuck in traffic as it was a weekend. After crossing the first toll, the car started slowing down and my husband started maneuvering the car towards the left most lane and came to a halt.
I was surprised as to why did we stop and was about to enquire him when he slowly started smiling and stepped out of the car. He took a bag out from the boot and there came a flask, two paper cups and a pack of chips in his hand.
By the time I stepped out, the bonnet of the car had become a chai-table, with all the items placed neatly on it. He hugged me with love and said, this is for you sweetheart. Suddenly I remembered that almost two years back, during a conversation with him, I had expressed my desire to have tea with him on a highway (expressway in our case) and here he was, making my wish come true.
It really feels good when someone makes you feel so special and specially after 1 year of enjoying the marital bliss! With him every day seems to be a new day with a new beginning. Now I know that I am blessed to have him as my life partner and always enjoy the roads traveled with him.
That was one of the best tea I ever had, especially because of the location, Yamuna Expressway!
